There’s a problem loading this menu right now. For me there is the high sounding verse yoked with drivel; it is impossible to have coherent poetry. Milton makes it look like God introduced his Son after the angels were created and thus implying that the angels didn’t recognize or know Jesus as Son of the God Head from the beginning.
Second I do not like how the author portrays Eve as a character as What seemed to me as less than Adam.
I liked Samson Agonistes when I read it in college many years ago. After god find out that they ate from the tree he says to Eve that Adam shall rule over her but I thought that he already was ruling over her.
I mean, I love Supernatural’s take on him.
The second from Vergil: I mainly read this because Philip Pullman, in his book of essays, seemed so very taken with it. Were I reading this as a student, I could probably make excuses for the different standards of wealth.
It is downright offensive, especially to women, who are constantly described as weak, made for the purpose of serving men, and source of all evil.
Samuel Johnson praised Paradise Lost as “a poem which Just starting this book. I’m not even sure Milton is writing what he really believes; I think he may just be playing– indulging his reverence for the classical mode.

It has taken me a long time to understand what Laradies dislike about Paradise Lost. John Milton had the audacity to excuse Adam of his sin in portraying that Adam choose to fall with Eve because he loved her instead being accountable of his folly in eating of the fruit due to his curiosity and disobedience.
And when it tells the first few books of the bible it’s even less for me.

While from my own experience I would not recommend this book, it might interest people who are religious, interested in mythical stories or enjoy epic poems. After all, Christians and Jews share Genesis as a holy book.
As a few have suggested, the poem is about the conflict between pradies id and the superego projected onto the cosmos. I don’t know if I’m dumb or what but its just words. Quotes from Paradise Lost. The whole son of God being in heaven before his human birth seems kinda odd and gets into theological discussions of the trinity and the nature of Christ which hold little interest for me.
Lists with This Book. It’s a weird tendency in the Christian world: I think he’s a little bit psychotic, extremely narcissistic, and paaradies sexist, and that made it more difficult for me to read, knowing that he wrote it.

I apparently unlike most people simply cannot take all this strutting and self assertion seriously. Neither of these is my view. I will wait to write a review for this until I have the proper amount of time to insult it.
