The book is genuinely funny, with some of the best dialog and internal musings I’ve ever read. Con men are supposed to be sharp-witted and clever, and he was–but he was also a creep. It was about a young woman and how she is stuck in her family’s art gallery doing a job that she doesn’t necessarily want to do but feels obligated to do.
But it grew on me – the zany, weird characters and the plot twists. I can read chick lit, but this was a little too mindless for me. And loved it even more. This book was not as funny, clever, sexy or charming as Crusie’s prior novels. In fact, the only character I liked in Welcome to Temptation was Davy. The women is worried about being homeless, and you brag about giving her an orgasm.
I didn’t give Davy much thought in Welcome To Temptation. You actually feel like you’re standing in one of her [Crusie’s] crazy families and by the end of the book you feel like you’re part of that crazy family.

This is one of those novels I had to read more than once before I fell in love with it. I started this book, and couldn’t get into it.
