I amd Griffin waking up to the reality of his friendship and realizing he needed to move on no matter how painful it was. Interestingly this light touch leaves the book with a somewhat disconnected feeling and lacking the weight and impact of the first book, yet this is great for an absorbing, well written, and enjoyable story.

The fact that there was pretty much no source of conflict and or plot didn’t help matters. But when the man who sexually abused him as a boy is killed and his remains are dumped in Miki’s car, Miki fears death isn’t done with him yet. A night of hot sex leads to a relationship of sorts, but guess what real feeling start to happen, who would have thought.
I don’t want to give anything away in the review though and mentioning those things more specifically might ruin the anticipation of the culmination of the problems facing Jim and Griffin. Jim does the most growing in this book.
It had characters with substance and personality and real world issues. This book doesn’t need a sequel, but I’d enjoy reading more about Jim and Griffin. Here it was pretty much the same thing, but both Griffin and Jim are openly gay men. These two were not the same characters from the beginning of this story. A family destroyed, and the man responsible got away with murder. Neither one expected much to come out of their first date, is this a date? Michaels knows how to write, she knows how to make her descriptions real and her characters likable and alive.
A murder case, that destroyed a family, a terrible tragedy and he wants to tell their story.
